80% of false alarms are caused by user error. False alarms not
only detract police, firefighters and medical personnel from real
emergencies, but they can result in substantial fines.
Together with you, SAI and Security Solutions & Technology want to
prevent false alarms. Please follow these guidelines.
- Know your security code(s) - Many false alarms result
from authorized persons forgetting their Security Code or their
Personal Identification Number.
- Know your security system - Make sure all authorized
persons are familiar with how to operate the security system.
- Read your security system manuals - Keep your Alarm
System Service Guide as well as your security equipment's User
Manual handy. Review the information in these guides often
and with all authorized users.
- Know how to cancel an alarm - Practice with all
authorized persons.
- Check motion detectors - Be sure all motion detectors
are aimed away from air vents, windows and fireplaces.
- Keep your account information updated - Make updates
online or contact SAI and Security Systems & Technology anytime
your contact information changes, you are about to move, or you
need to change your emergency contact list.
- Test your system regularly - Once a month, test your
security system to ensure it is working properly. Contact
SAI and Security Solutions & Technology if you detect any
problems.
- Change the batteries - If the security system
indicates a low battery, do not continue to operate the system.
Contact SAI and Security Systems & Technology immediately.
